This year's Pizzamas shirts were made possible by our fantastic artists and designers

Pepper Raccoon

Pepper Raccoon is a human-shaped raccoon that lives at the ends of the earth in the beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand. She's known for her conservation-driven nature apparel, enamel pins, and stickers, and is also the illustrator behind Hank Green's Mola Cult designs.

As a lifelong trash panda, she is a great lover of pizza, and her signature order is pepperoni (obviously), mushrooms, red onion, buffalo mozzarella, and an entire bag of rocket on top (but she'll take whatever she finds in the trash, free pizza is free pizza!)

Christa Carleton

Christa Carleton received her BFA from Western Colorado University and MFA in Printmaking from Montana State University. Christa works regularly in screenprint and woodcut, but letterpress is where her loyalties lie. She is currently a screenprint technician at a textile printing business and pursues her artistic practice on top of her full time job. Her artwork is often exhibited nationally; some notable places include The Missoula Art Museum in Missoula Montana, The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers Wisconsin, The Janet Turner Print Museum in Chico California, The Blockfort Gallery in Columbus Ohio, and The Haley Gallery at Hatch Show Print in Nashville Tennessee.

"My favorite pizza is one I make at home! It's a recipe I received from a fellow grad student who was originally from Italy. It taught me that some of the most delicious pizza is the simplest! Thinly slice your zucchini, salt it and let it drain in a colander for about 30 mins, then blot the slices to remove moisture. Get the pizza dough ready and brush it with EVOO and sprinkle that with a little salt. Take a ball of mozzarella and dollop that evenly on the dough. In a slightly overlapped pattern, arrange the very thinly sliced zucchini so that it covers the pizza. Sprinkle a little more salt on top of that. Bake at 525° for 10 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling. BEST PIZZA EVER."

Rachel Banta

Rachel Banta haunts the internet with procreate and a dream. That dream may include posting cursed edits in Hanks replies or turning her friends into pelicans. Armed with vibrant colors, whimsy, and really old vlogbrothers jokes, she coordinates the NerdfArters art challenge every October.

Rachel's favorite type of pizza: none pizza with a hard pivot to left beef

HookieDuke

HookieDuke is a Minneapolis-based artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans illustration and printmaking, fiber works, and symbolic art objects. They draw inspiration from the natural world, folklore, and the quiet strangeness of living and dying things.

"I dreamt of a friend’s imaginary brother who turned into a pizza dinosaur after falling asleep at a house party."

Tiffany Chin

Tiffany Chin is a Toronto based illustrator who creates all things strange. Inspired by posters and music from the 1960s and 70s, Tiffany strives to step beyond the boundaries of convention to create visually jarring imagery.

"My ideal pizza is a margherita pie with a sourdough crust that has a slightly crunchy undercarriage."

Marco Quadri

Marco Quadri is a comic book artist and illustrator from Bologna, Italy. After studying traditional printmaking techniques, he received a MA in book design and illustration between Urbino (IT) and Barcelona (ES). That's where his curiosity for independent publishing and alternative comics came from. From tiny zines, to full size books his work revolves around strange, fantastic and sci-fi imagery, where landscapes, architecture and creatures interact to create eerie and playful storytelling. His works have been published in various anthologies such as kuš!, Baobab, sigaretten, Le Monde, Magma Bruta and many more. In 2020 he founded 'enter press' a publishing house and riso studio along with 'TITIVIL' a gallery, exhibition space and collective in Bologna Italy where many more artists coexist and work together.

"I don't really have a favourite pizza; I think neapolitan margherita is definitely the most simple and best there is ( I know! boring! aha). Here in Italy we are pretty obsessed with pizza. When I used to work in an Italian pizzeria, called Isola Di Capri, in Phillip Island (AU) me and my friend would always get a free pizza at the end of the shift and go eat it at the pier right next to the restaurant. From the first day we found out that we would get surrounded by seagulls who wanted to eat our pizza, so we would throw crusts at them and the seagulls would catch them in the air."
